Alas! school hols do not last!

school hols are ending! :( i noe that at least 1/2 of the population of singaporean student bloggers are typing the same words into their com... i am one of those unfortunate half. :(

duh, i feel so scared about what will come next. but i must trust in God that He will guide me through this thorny part of life. i guess i ain't a great stress coper. n im quite pessimistic too. :(but im really weird! i dunno why too. i guess i still have to discover myself!

tomr, there's theory exam, oh how i HATE exams, but i quite enjoyed studying for this exam. but dunno how i will fare. i shall listen to mom's qoute, 'winning is not everything, it is whether you want to win that matters'. so i want to win :)

My! 15th birthday!

4th March ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
yay! im fifteen, i turned fifteen at 7.07pm today! haha. today was really fun! cos i received my presents from my beloved clique. the three of them (diane, elyssa and janice) gave me real great prezzies. they came up with a photo of the four of us doing some crazy facial expression, haha. it is hilarious! and on the photo frame reads happy birthday and fifteen fabulous. hehheh, that photo is on my table and whenever i look at it, i will smile to myself, maybe laugh, cos i will recall all the funny memories that we have together. (that's why i always laugh or smile to myself, i'm thinking of them!) hehe. then i received samuel's(not my cousie, instead samantha) present. it is the book by jodi picoult, i forgot the title. oops. aniwae, THANKS A LOT GALS! I LOVE YOU ALL WITH MY HEART!

then at night time, my family went out for my birthday dinner. we went to this chinese cruisine place called king crab dunno what at serangoon central. it is at some coffee shop, n i didnt mind cos i dont need air con as lonas the food is good. and yes, you could say that the food was fab!

we had crab beehoon, scallop with baby kailan, deer meat, cereal prawn and mee with rice. though you may think that this isnt much, it was really quite a lot for my family. the food is really good, with scallop so sweet, deer meat so tender, crab so fresh. it was almost heaven. so we ate till we couldn't. hehheh. then we went home and i still had to do my lit homework. see, im so poorthing, on my birthday still have to do homework. there was once, it was worse. when i was in primary school, i had a test the day after my birthday, so when i was singing my birthday song, i was remembering that i had some stupid test the next day...

at 11, after almost all the food from dinner was digested, mom took out the cake. ice cream cake for haagen daas! hehe, so thrilling yet fattening! :( the flavour was macadamia. my fam started singing the birthday song and taking lots of photos. i took quite a number with er jie and dajie! yay! ate the cake, it was fantastic! thanks a lot daddy for treating me on my birthday dinner and cake and contacts(?). sure it came up to quite a sum.

after that, birthday girl worked through the night till 1 to organise her party for friendz the next day. lemme tell u it was all worth it, lemme tell you about it later!

5th March (btw, this is tuition lao shi's birthday as well as emerald's, the girl sho lives in the same block as me!) --------------------------------------------------------------------------

woke up, was very excited, however anxious on the outcome of my party. went to school, and blah blah, the normal school stuff... and nadine gave me a letter and a realy sweet present, it is little childish for me too, nonetheless, the thought is more important. at least it makes my feel young again (like 3+ as indicated on the cover of the 'toy'). THANKS nadine! and esther gave me hers after the party, but i shall talk about them here. yes, it's a them, she gave me so many things. lol! 1. a card that she admits that she misses me a lot, is thinking of me, thati am special to her, want me to know that im fondly remembered, and wants me to have a good day. okay! esther, i've gotten ur message, THANKS A LOT esther! and she definitely made my day excellent by coming to my party! 2. another card that keeps emphazing that im a good, great, generous, optimistic, kind, generous friend. hehe, she's a real servile flatterer, i cant be that perfect! :) 3. a cute cartoon of winnie the pooh and co. cute! 4. a book, one her favs, but not one of mine, but the thought truly appreciated. the book is chicken soup for the christian teenager's soul. hehe, im not really interested in chicken soup. yup, and that sums up the presents i have received so far.


so let me talk about my party! yay, it was so fun although i was on the verge of losing my voice with all the shouting games and being the party coordinator. at 3, all my friends were gathered at my home, elyssa and janice came later for some reasons and got caught in a storm! they came quite soaked. janice started telling us how she and elyssa were at the traffic light and there was one hugh torrent gushing, elyssa chimed in that she was jumping and screaming. lol, and that's what i experienc every time i go home wih such weather. my whole socks will get wet just with that torrent!

then while i was in the kitchen preparing drinks for my guest, the dorbell rang and my unsuspecting friends thought it was my father. they opened the door to find themselves staring at the face of some malay pizza guy. lol. yeah, so mom said grace and we sat down and ate pizza. at the lunch table we caught up with many things of the past and relived jokes. the dining room was filled with the croaky laughter of janice, the giggles of diane and the normal laughter of the rest. ooh, i forgot to mention who were my guest, they were diane, elyssa, esther, isabelle, janice, nadine and shariel. after lunch, we had to bid fareell to isabelle who had music lesson in school, crappy janice said that she was so sad at isabelle's parting that she wanted to mourn, oh whatever janice!

then we sat down to play guess the famous person game. it was really hilarious! nadine had da chang jin, and then my clique started singing th wu la la song. hehe, it was super obvious but poor nadine couldnt get it. ah heng got s.r nathan and after a few rounds, she had obtained clues that it was a he and an important indian. so than she guessed. esther had marie curie, but because many people didnt know who that was, we dropped the poor scientist. shariel had jessicca liu, and she kept guessing rui en, joanne peh. then she remembered jesseca something.. then janice (who loves to give my game away) said amanda liew lah! then shariel exclaimed, "oh! jesseca liu!" haha, that cmae to te end of the first game.

the second was charade, i had split the group into 2 teams. babes- heng, teo and ng. chicks- tham, chew and goh. (i've suddenly gotten a preference for surnames, they are easier to type!) they were to send one person up and tha person had to act out a phase of words for her team members to guess. some phrases were like put yourself in someone's shoes, will you marry me?, the leap years etc. babes were doing too good a job and they led 10-0. so i had to do a tribal swap. chew and teo switched teams. haha, it was more fair from then.

after that, we went down to the void deck for the outdoor games. the third game was the blind feeding and blind eating. in their original groups, my friends had to send a volunteer, they were chew and ng. a twist for the game, they would do the easier task of instructing their teammates on feeding and eating while blindfolded. however, to make more challenging, they could only use words ee ah orh. for babes, teo was the consumer and heng was the feeder. standing for chicks were goh the consumer and tham the feeder. on go, the instructors would give instructions for the feeder to feed the consumer. the food was prawn cracker and f&n orange mixed together and the drink was f&n orange, the first group which finished wins. it was really entertaining to watch the blind people perform actions. janice had poked nadine's eyes, fortunately, the blindfolds protected her eyes. and it came to as quite a shock for nadine to eat the strangly tasted and weird tasting prawn crackers and she and janice could not stop laughing. i too had a great time laughing at them!

subsequently, we played break-the-ice-shirt-and-socks-and-put-them-on game! each group was given a block of ice. they had to break the ice, dismantle the frozen shirt and socks, and then get one person to wear them for a photoshoot. (unfortunately, many of my pics taken are corrupted :( so will have to rely on ah heng. hope she has some pics!) so both groups started smashing the ice into pieces like lunantics. and ever so gentle esther could not bear to hurl the ice on the ground, so she jumped with a small block of ice in her hands and gently thumped it on the ground, haha, like she believed that gentleness would melt the heart of ice. and she told me, looking a wise as an owl that putting ice on your neck would make the ice melt real fast, and she really did that! lol!!! despite esther, the chicks managed to claim first place as esther wore the clothing first. babes had a porblem with a piece of ice in one side of the sock, so they came in second.. and last.. harhar, shariel so kindly wore the clothes for them and click click, photoshoot was over. :)

upon finishing the game, we still had a little time, so we played treasure hunt with the two shirts used in the previous game. the first round, er jie and i hid the shirts for the rest to seek, the limits being the first floor only. er jie had this really smart idea of putting a shirt in the lift. haha, it took them some time to find it! the second round was done by diane and janice. they had hid one shirt on some roof of the sheltered walkway, lol, they just threw the shirt up and just hid it in that really unnoticeable place, thank goodness, i had meant to throw the shirts away!

then at 5, we went up to cut cake, however, mom wasnt ready. so we played wacko. with a different way of playing it, we hada to use our names spelt backwards instead. i was asil (not bad huh? but very easy to call). some really hard ones were janice's: ecinaj and esther's: rehtse which many of us ended up pronouncing as wrestle when the game sped up. lol! nadine's sounded a like a nice guy's name: enidan. shariel's: leirahs, diane's: enaid and elyssa's: assyle (as-silly or ass-silly if you want it.)(take away the e and add um gives u assylum, hehe.) we played many rounds which involved bullying esther into making her confused on which direction to hit as all of us started shouting anyone's name and pointing anywhere. lol, poor esther looked so confused that she might have a mental breakdown. she is so cute!

finally, my cake (of rather cakes, there were 2 u see) was done! it was a large version of durian puff and mango yoghurt puff. i love puffs and a lovey durians! so i got really crazy over this cake. only some pathetic friends of mine who couldnt stand durians took the alternative. haha, they don't know what they've miss! my! i had ice cream cake the day before and now durian puffed cake. so hairpee!

so that summs up my birthday! to my friends, hope you've enjoyed my specially planned birthday party. hehe, :)

i went from geog challenge at nus, it was really interesting and a good experience! and i've gotten my contact lense! yay! i took a little while to learn to put them on. it is not because im not daring enough to touch my eyeball, ball cuase my eyelashes kept interfering. :) but now i can wear them quite quickly. :) yay for me!

okay enough talk about getting older.. im very happy cos im listening to my star pianist... richard clayderman. i love his music! it's so soothing and groovy. i like a lot of the pieces from his collection, a pity i cant play them on the piano as im not up to the standard. see how lowly i think of myself, but it's true! i have about 150 songs of his. :) but i have a few particular favs.


for the past week, i watched my favourite parts of dae jang geum once again. she rawks so with min jioho! hehe. dae jang geum will always be my fav soap opera ever! and to think that my crazy pal janice and i still hum tunes and do crazy actions that depict jang geum and geum young in the kitchen. we say that elyssa looks like geum young, then she asks, "who's that?" we say that it is the poor lady min jio ho dumped! lol.


toking about my clique, janice has so hornily assigned us some male teacher to pair each one of us up with! what's her prob?! hehe. in the end, elyssa and i pair her up with the pervertic teacher, then she complained to us for being mean to her. lol, that's the pot calling the kettle black! she started it! but anyway, we love her horniness or corniness, or whatever it is! also i would like to say that i really enjoyed thurs with them. we took timings for the runners and whenever there was a short interval between the rounds, we were crapping around and j and di wanted to hone their acting skills. had lots of fun. btw, di and i still have yet to find out if she has discovered the bare mentos sweet we had put into her bag. maybe she will discover it once ants start visiting. lol, we are so naughty! and elyssa, you had better keep ur promise about running together!

okay, now i shall tok serious stuff. i am going to wear contacts. quite happy about this change.

this term, i did rather badly for tests, :( but i will try to buck up next time round.

now, i shall go and do my homework... irritating! it's lit and geog. tt wants us to do some reflection on the amazon tropical rainforest's flora and flauna. maybe i will just lift from some webbie, i said maybe only, dont sue me for plagiarism! furthermore, she wants me to take part in some geog competition as the reserve.. i also dunno what i will be doing..

BTW i have come across this really crazy video of richard c. playing lady di(diane, this is the song for you!), the song guitar club is learning! the way he plays makes it seem so simple! i envy him! only if guitar club could do as well as him.. :(

Gong xi fa cai!

yesterday, my paternal side families came together to my house for reunion dinner! it is the one of the TWO times we meet a year. the first time being cny eve reunion dinner and the second is on cny itseelf when we go to grandma's house. lol so it is like two times concentrated on to two consecutive days, then wait for another year before we meet.
after school yeterday, i went to bishan library myself( :( no one wanted to go with me). i had to make special trips there as the books i wanted were only available at bishan or central, so of coure i went to bishan since there is direct bus there. i borrowed the 3rd-6th book of the series of 'anne'. the first two books really won my heart! namely anne of green gables and anne of avonlea. i have finish the third yesterday and it didnt disappoint. so today im going to read the forth!
when i came home, i played sims 2 for a real long time, mom was really angry. lol. i still want to play despite exams approaching but that's me, my hedonistic nature. then i started on anne of the island (book 3). then i did A maths quiz online with background noise from my relatives, so couldn't really concentrate. in the end i got full marks but i took ages to do! by then my grandma, 1st and 5th uncle had come, and 5th uncle brought his vietnamese wife. i had never seen her and she is 28 but smaller than me (can you imagine?), but she is very cool when she is planted in the kitchen. she noes how to do a lot of things concerning cooking and chopping of duck. you could say she almost dominated the kitchen along with my mom. so when i wanted to help, i felt so small cos she had so much knowledge and i was scared that i would embarrass myself. btw, she has so much strength, she hacked up the roast duck! lol!
after 30 mins of food preparation, all the food were ready. my second uncle's family, forth uncle's family and second aunt came. okay let me introduce my cousins. 1st uncle has two sons, chong han and chong kai. 2nd uncle has a girl, esther. my dad's third and he has christine, julia and lisa (that's me). 4th uncle, has a daugther name hui ling. 2nd aunt's (dad's sister) a spinster and 5th uncle just got married. yeah this summarises my paternal cousins. and we've quite a diverse in terms of age, chong han being the oldest at 30 and i being the youngest.
coming to food, we had a a range of choices. we had crab, scallop with veg, roast duck, veg salad, pig stomach soup and others. i didnt have the chance to eat all the dishes as i deemed full by the time i ate crab, scallop and veg and drank soup. dunno what happened to my stomach. i can actual eat more then that.
after that my cousins and i (all but chong han, he had go off) gathered in the study to play card games like asshole taiti and and animal chase whilst savouring ben's and jerry's. lol it was so hilarious cos there was once when i couldnt call my cousin's animal moniker cos there was a hugh mouthful of ice cream in my mouth! then we played asshole taiti, i was king twice before i was deposed to the asshole. lol, sad story...

then we went out for a group photo then we tossed yu sheng, i didnt toss as i was filming the process down. and my uncle's wives were spouting all the chinese well wishes. and it was so in the atmosphere. then the 'kids' received their hong bao.
then we went down to play sparklers! we had a lot fun! :) see some of the pics!

Seafood galore (for me to read only, read if u really want to waste time!)

haiz, now i dont blog as often,sorry if my posts have been rather sporadic. i will try to blog a bit for myself.
today i have good news for myself! i have sumptuous+scrumptious seafood fest. first of all, i have sharks fin. then i have crab, japanese scallop and lala! whoo hoo! this is so rare that i have such great food. i thanked my mom and she thanked God. so thank you God! thank you chinese new year offers for lowering the prices of some of the items. :) i m a very hairpee person!
the bad part is im having tests every day! yay, i will almost die but i will survive! im crapping a lot now. okay i gotta shut up and study narratives...

the news is out! the third book of eragon is called brisingr, it is inconsistent with the previous names of the cycle, both eragon and eldest start with e n have 6 letters.


today is a good day, but tomr's uncertain. im scared, i hate tests when i dont do well. maybe im a little to paranoid about my eng compre test, cos i actually have more questions rite than wrong(hopefully). or maybe im belittling myself, i should do better lah. tomr, there's ss test. so almost every day got test... wed there was eng compre, then today, summary. yeah so im going to study now.

Eragon

though i got news quite some time back, i never really had the interest to write it down here. argh and it is quite depressing. the series of eragon is now no longer the inheritance trilogy, but the inheritance cycle. cos there is a forth book! but the third is only soming out late this year. so i guess i have to wait a real long time before i will know the ending. lol. :( i got this from wikipedia. 'Paolini also announced that he would end the third book with the death of a major character.' it better be someone bad.
talking about books, i love reading nicholas sparks. other than that, i have been flitting around from different authors. btw, i like TKAM. the 1st part was rather dull but the second is way better. hope this will encourage my friends who are having a hard time turning the pages in the first part to finish it off and then it would be better in the second. :). i think is my shortest word post. n i dunno if that's good or bad.

Whoo hoo!

yo! i'm in a very very good mood today! :D that's because of the good time in school. it's like a simple math equation that usually applies to every day of my life: + school = + day OR -school = - day. lala as simple as that! so school had better be good for the rest of the year if not it will adversely affect my day. :)
although i cant really cope that well in terms of studies, i mean maths in particular, but the rest are rara time! my friends rawk! they make me so happy. i shall thank God for his abundant love in sending me 4 great friends this year. they are janice, diane, elyssa(same, same from last year) and the new addition, shariel! whoo! my clique rawks.
not to mention, i think im starting to enjoy my cca a lot now. i admit im a really weird person. at first when i first joined my cca, i was very very bo chap. n that remained for the whole year. i still remember there was a time when some of the sec 1s, together with me formed some opposition on having guitar practice as we found it BORING and blah blah. (although i didnt like the pratices, i loved to play the guitar a lot. dont get this mixed up!) yeah so we looked up mrs nair and sort of suggested that we dont have guitar on that day, instead we go home and rest. n mrs nair was of course not happy, she told us that the school pays mr francis to teach us, and then we said, "huh, mr francis get paid meh?" i guess it was because of his kind demeanour that's why we forsook the priveleges we had.
last year was syf year, it was the year i had enjoyed most as a club so far. syf made us closer and when the results fell short of our expectations, we sure got closer to one another. i loved guitar.
then end of last year, i started to find guitar a routine. not that i was compelled to go, i just went along with the rules.
now here i am, liking guitar more n more each session. i hope that doesnt stop! :)

yep, i think that's all i have to say. im going to play sims 2, some ppl find it fun, some boring. i find it more fun than boring, so please dont not comment. :)

Beginning

i know this post is a little late for its title, but i wanna talk about my life in school so far. school's so so. first day on wednesday, had talk from principal, learnt the theme song for the year and the theme for the year. it was quite boring, the whole assembly in the hall. the only time i laughed a little was when my friends joanna and shariel cracked jokes about how they called our classroom. my classroom is located in the F block, (forgot the christian name they had given the block) on the 4th floor, the 4th room. so in short it is called f-04-04. yeah and you know, in chinese,4 sounds like the word die, though it was an ordinary observation, for the superstitious, it would matter a lot. then we went on to create a simple way of gesturing 0404. which was really lame and stupid and funny. so i laughed.
i've been feeling really lonely nowadays except for shariel. she has been accompanying me for recess and to the library. thanks a lot shariel! :) the main reason for this is because of the trio prefects who are so busy in their duty. :( i really miss them and school horrid without them. :( hope i will be able to sit with them. good thing we are of about the same calibre, so we are in the same class for almost all the banded classes. but i will be still alone for the humans classes, which is so bad........ but i shall give thanks that we are still in the same form class. :)
now let me go on to the lessons so far.
the very first lesson i had on thursday was e maths. miss gail chew(or she changed her surname to her husband's) came in. she told us that the banding had not been confirmed so she was taking us for the day. she did some revision with us on the sec 2 stuff like quadratic equations. and i took home something new that day from her, it was to put the word 'or' instead of putting commas. i mean i never had been corrected previous by any of my math teachers, so i went on to use comma. i wouldnt mind if i stay in miss chew's class as i think she's a fabulous teacher, but considering the marks i got for maths, i dont think i will be in the second class. (i mean i think i will go the better class ;))
during the following period, mr elvis low, teacher of physics, came in to familiarize us with the weightage that was implemented for the o levels. i find him cute with his braces.
then i went recess with shariel.
during chemistry lesson, mrs joyce chong, like mr low introduced us to the expectations of o levels.
english lesson followed. my teacher's miss annabella ong. she looks ang moh although she shares the same surname as me, so i deduced that she's mixed blood. she then gave us her personal profile, she had studied psychology in university and some other thing, i cant remember. and she'd taught in some secondary school. she proudly professed, "although i may look young, im very experienced." i shall choose to believe that she indeed has a belt of experience. :) and she's quite cool. lol. and then we had a round of introducing a friend (instead of the normal introduction of oneself). since vivienne is in the same class as i, she was my part time friend, ( i know im really mean but i just cant wait for janice diane and elyssa to be back!)
followed by was add maths, okay i must say im very afraid for this subject. i shan't say too much but i felt that mr lyndon lim was a little too fast for me. n cos there were the amp girls there, they were really ahead of the rest. and somehow mr lim had always asked an amp girl to present her answer on the board, n they will get it all right. then mr lim said," class, am i too slow?" no! you're not! in fact he was a little fast as i had mentioned earlier.
then i had lunch, during this time i spent most of the time memorising the lessons for peerlite. though it was hard work, it really paid off as the peer lite session was really fun as i knew my work. :) i shall declare it out loud, "being a peer lite has been the most fun and best thing i had taken up in leadership of the school!" thanks for the chance for me to be a peer lite! we played games and taught the lessons.
then in closing, we had this really fun game, by which names of some famous people would be pasted on a few girls forehead while everyone had eyes closed. then we would go one round and the girls with a name had to play the game of guess who. the first one guess was lee hsien loong. the girl who had reached to the state of gathering clues that the person was a very important person in the area of politics in singapore. then someone gave her extra info saying,"aiyah dont think about the party, only got one person..." so it was an easy guess. the last name to be guessed was thomas edison. the girl was hilarious. she was the last and we were running out of time, so we gave her i big clue and it was the man who invented the light bulb. and then she went, " I KNOW! ALBERT EINSTEIN!" lol, everyone was really amused! btw for extra info, albert einstein is nickname my former classmates had given my due to my hair and cos i was a little smarter than them. :)
okay that's all for the second day of school. and it's really late now, im going to church tomr so i shan't miss out n any sleep! will continue the rest next time.

school has started... wasnt really keen on going to school except for the parts on seeing friends. but school turned out okay! i have marvelous classmates, a cute form teacher and my 3 of my best friends in the same class. whoohoo, apart from academics, i think 2008 will be a shiok year! :)

Ck retreat - 17-20 dec

i've just come back from ck camp. it is the last camp i have for december, it was enjoyable and i got to know the ck youths better. they are quite okay actually, but i still stuck with nat most of the time.

day 1
took taxi with nat noelene and bernice to cranwell bungalow 2. met the ck youths outside the bungalow. they were waiting for the camp master, boaz, to deliver the key. after waiting for some time, bozzie came together with dorcas n kong wee in kong wee's car, we went in and starting unloading the stuff from kong wee's car. then everyone checked into their rooms. i was roomed with nat, noelene, bernice, cheryl, joanna and aunty suet yin. there were 2 girls and 2 guys dorms. in our dorm, there were only 2 beds, so cheryl and bernice got them bcos they did not have sleeping bags. i had to sleep in my sleeping bag on the floor. then we went out to have the camp briefing. we got to know the camp theme was 'the walking corpse' and the theme song, a heart of stone, and all the rest of the details. we also played some icebreakers, which involved shoes and lots of shoes. then we played a blindfold game. later on, hui shi introduced the angel and mortal game. (happened in ks camp too). this time i got aunty suet yin as my mortal.
then we had the 1st message of the camp. the camp speaker was kong wee. he talked about us being already dead spiritually when adam fell into sin and how God has the power to raise us from our death. then we had discussion in our groups. my group was chairo, the greek word for joy and consprised of ezra, issac chan, michael, bernice, noelene, hui qi, daniel and claudia. the other 2 groups were eirene(peace) and agape(love).
after that came dinner, we had meat burgers, but i chose to have the 'vegetarian' one which had the filling of lettuce, nuts, cranberry and mango. it was supposed to be the salad but i couldnt stand the meat filling. yeah and bcos of that i got dubbed by aunty suet yin and dorcas(the camp cook) as healthy. lol. after eating, i played bridge with bernice and some friends(i cant remember who). then there was a workshop and how do you know God's will. i learnt about the 4 different channels of God's guidance. 1st, the holy bible, 2nd, the holy spirit, 3rd, circumstances and lastly, the counsel of other godly believers.
we had supper and then it was lights out. i couldnt sleep at all that night, maybe bcos i wasnt tired, but the hard floor made it impossible for my to sleep well at all. nat, who was sleeping on the floor too beside me was also tossing and turning the whole night.

day 2
after the bad night rest, i woke up at 6. waited in bed for 1h30mins and then i got up to brush teeth. nat joined me soon. i played abit of the muted piano and did some morning stretches and exercises with claudia and tze yan. did the crouching dragon pose which evokes strain in almost every muscle in ur limbs and stomach. it was to go on your elbows and toes as the only support on the floor. i could maintain the position for the longest amongst the 3 of us and they were really envious. i suggested that i had great mental power to push myself on eventhough i was really shaking.
after some time, we started the day with breakfast. it was hot milo and pancakes. very delicious pancakes i must say! then we had singspiration followed by message 2. we learnt about the different parts of the body, how worldly they were. an example is the mind, its failure to meditate on God's word, the heart, it is full of the love and concerns of this world and finally the muscles, it is flabby from lack of exercise(fighting against sin).had discussion in my group again and then we had lunch. aunty suet yin and dorcas had prepared my favourite food! which is seasoned chicken wings and kai lan. i ate 7 chicken wings!
then we got ready for games time. we played the games outside the chalet, on the grass patch. we played many competitive games which would garner points for our group. the first was to wear a pair of socks and a shirt which had be frozen in bag of ice. so we had to break the ice first, it was a hugh chunk and my group members took turns to hit the ice on the ground with all our might. soon the ice broke up in to smaller pieces, thanks to our very fit and strong NS man michael, and we had to get rid of the ice in the socks and shirt. my group managed to get rid of the ice first and then michael put them on. he was screaming about the cold. lol and my group came in first for that game. the sec game we played was an improvised version of touch rugby. this time we played with water bombs. i had played touch rugby in school before so i knew the game well, but with the water bombs, i wasnt sure. i should say that the improvisation wasnt successful as the water bomb kept landing on the grass and bursting. so no group could score points. then we changed the ball to a volleyball. the game was much smoother and again my team beat the other 2! yay! then it started raining a little. and everyone got into a mayhem, throwing water bombs everywhere, i got soaked and so did everyone. i played flying frisbee for a while and then we got into our groups to play captain's ball. my team only managed a second as we were seriously deprived in the area of height. our tallest player was claudia, who is about 163cm. the other teams had much taller players. after that, the games time was over and we had free time. i was wondering if i should have a shower as i was so dirty but i decided against the idea as i was thinking that since i am so dirty, i should play a while more. many of the youths were playing soccer. so i played volleyball with another few youths. i mean not the real game but just juggling the ball. it was really fun, then some of the youths wanted to go shower already, so i wanted to play soccer but someone was a little unhappy that i wanted to join in so late. so i left for the shower.
after that was message, the last message of the camp. it talked about the injection life into the dead person to make him alive in God. followed up was discussion. then we had dinner. it was spaghetti, except without cheese. :(
then next up was camp fire preparation. we went into our groups and discussed about what we should do of the camp fire the next day. my group decided to have a skit followed by a song item and then our reflections from the camp. the skit would depict a christian entering a state of a walking corpse. isaac drove us into fits of laughter when he acted as baby which had just come out from its mother's womb. bernice called him a cry baby and he said it was an ugly baby instead. lol! we laughed too when he acted as a walking corpse. giving an ugly, lopsided face and walking with an superfluously exaggerated limb. we could not hold our laughter. soon all the girls, including me had high tide and had to visit the toilet. we rehearsed for our song item too.
it was then night games time! we played the game human and zombie. that was, the zombies would hide a rubik cube somewhere in the living room or in the kitchen. the kitchen was the jail. the zombies then would be blindfolded with a thin black sheet and they would have to catch the humans in their blindfold and bring them to jail before the humans find the cube. however, the humans could save their counterparts in jail, also, the cube could be in the jail too. so it was a chance game and a game of strategy. btw, the humans were given light sticks to wear round the neck so that it would be more fair to the zombies. we played many round of which i was human in all of them, but the humans always failed to find the treasure. so in the end, the game ended with the zombies winning.
we had a quick supper and then it was lights out. this time i was smarter, i slept with the removable sofa cushion under me, this way, it was much more comfortable. had a good sleep!

day 3
woke up at 8. slept throughout this time. we had breakfast which was bread with different fillings, such as peanut butter and fruit jam, butter and sugar, nutella and of course hot milo. :) then we had a workshop on divorce and remarriage. a past top controversy that divided my previous and present churches. and also the reason why i had to transfer church... elder leong who conducted the workshop drew a line very clearly on the different stands and explained to us many on the things. he also answered many of the burning questions from the youths.
then it was lunch time. we had rice with omelette and veg and other ingredients. then we prepared ourselves to go out for the outing at east coast park. we were going to cycling there while participating in a treasure hunt contest. again, we did this in groups. yeah so we went off to east cost park. it was a long journey there. then we rented the bikes for and hour, getting 2 additional hours free. so we started the contest. my group had started off in the wrong direction in the beginning but soon we manage to recover and we got last for the first round and first in the second round! i cycled like crazy. i can bet that i had cycled at least 30km. and that's a lot for me! i was pushing myself on, telling myself to go at a constant pace and it paid off! my group won! at the end, i was really hungry, i could gobble up a whole bag of chips. but isaac chan told me to save my stomach for dinner, a hugh feast. so i listened to him.
on the bus back, i watched claudia solve the rubik cube with cheryl teaching her, disturbing nat a little while she was trying to sleep and smiled at myself for no reason(maybe i was thinking of things pleasant).
we finally reached the chalet! and guess what! it was steam boat dinner for us! i seldom take steamboat, so i guess i was quite excited. i sat in a table with the usual people plus hui shi, elias. the food was delicious, the only problem was that i couldn't finish everything. in the middle of dinner, since all of us had small stomachs, the adults came in stealing bits of food from our table. after i finished my food, i left for the shower. i wanted to be clean and cool and knew when was the best time to avoid competition for the bath rooms(there were only 3 bathrooms available for a good number of 30 campers). yup, i struck when the iron was hot and i showered. so i came out much more refreshed and ready for the rest of the activities.
some leisure time followed dinner, it was when the groups did last minute preparation for the special item, and then the much awaited campfire commenced. we started of with singspiration and then it was time for my group to perform our skit. we made the audience laugh when we acted like walking corpse, because we all looked really retarded. but i feel that our skit reflected all of what kong wee had taught us. then we presented our reflections and lastly, we sang the song i've got the joy, since we were the joy group.
the second group was eirene, the did very well they gave their version of the 12 days of chrsitmas in the the ck camp form and when it came to the second day, they threw some water bombs at us, singing: on the 2nd day of camp, we played with water bomb! and suddenly all the water bombs came flying at the audience. poor ivan, he got hit on the head and went into a sneezing and coughing fit for the rest of the night. poor guy, he should have ducked but he was too blur(matthew had warned him). some of the judges got wet and isaac chan went screaming, saying that the performing group need not perform already, they would get bad results for 'offending' the judges. lol! then they gave their reflection and played a small game between my team and agape. it was a memory game. and i felt that that wasnt really a performance, more of like organising a game. so i though they would be marked down on that.
the last group, agape performed a skit too and sang a song and gave the reflections too. they sang the camp theme song with actions and their skit was about the new man vs the old man. (i felt that it was only relevant to the first message and not all) and the memebers of the group gave their individual reflections. the final result for the performance was agape was first, eirene second and chairo last. but good news was instore for us! we had won the overall, after 3 days of competition, we had won! so we got the top prize and we were very happy.
then after the camp fire, some campers roasted marshmallows by the campfire. i roasted 2 and did not go for more as i wanted to preserve my health. :) then we entered the house and started to play mafia. we played for a while and then we went into playing a very cute game, which is the diu diu game! it was realyl interesting and it was very childish. (i do not wish to explain the game here as it is quite complicated) furthermore, the forfeiters who had made 3 mistakes, would have to become a human jackpot. 3 of them would have to close their eyes and perform an action of of 4 given to them, when someone said kaching! they would have to change action and if they showed the same action, jackpot was hit and their forfeit was over. yeah, so the whole chalet roared with laught whenever some one made a mistake as the mistakes were hilarious. we played all the way to 2am, then it was lights out. again i collected the cushion for me to sleep on and i had a good sleep.

day 4
rise and shine at 9.30. woke up, had instant noodle for breakfast as dorcas wasnt around anymore. i ate tom yam flavour of nissin brand, it isnt as tasty as the myojo one. and later ate ice cream with bread. good life huh. then packed up, i had actually done my packing last night and was doing the last minute packing in that time so i was done with it very soon.
then everyone gathered to reveal their mortal,my angel was noelene. and i could guess! i realised that in ks camp and in this camp, my angels are very close to me, but i always never guess! :( then we sat in a circle and played more of the diu diu game. now it was full force as the whole camp was participating. and more laughter came.
then we played more mafia and it was time to break camp.
dad mom and er jie came to pick me up, went to eat at changi village then went home. :)
